MIRIFISNES project had an Exhibitor Booth within the Laser Applications to Chemical, Security and Environmental Analysis (LACSEA) topical meeting.

MIRIFISENS dissemination activities planned the organization of two workshops.

The first, around the mid-project, focusing on the scientific advances performed in MIRIFISENS, in conjunction with the Exploitation board, to strengthen the exploitation plans. This workshop was co-located with the QCL 20th Anniversary workshop held at ETHZ, which allowed to increase its impact and gather top experts.

The second workshop, which is to be held at the end of the project, aims to demonstrate the results on the different MIRIFISENS potential application scenarios.

On November 30th, 2015, the PhD student involved in the MIRIFISENS project at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, D. Luis Jorge Orbe Nava defended his PhD thesis, supervised by Dr. Guillermo Carpintero (MIRIFISENS IP at UC3M).

The evaluation took place at 10:30 am, at the SALÓN DE GRADOS in the Auditorium "PADRE SOLER". On the evaluation committee were:

The low-noise laser driver developed by NEO Monitors (http://neomonitors.com), AS, Norway, within the MIRIFISENS FP7 project was employed to operate an ICL laser demonstrating a Compact CH4 sensor system

The paper, published on 5 January 2016 in the Applied Physics Letters journal, is titled "Compact CH4 sensor system based on a continuous-wave, low power consumption, room temperature interband cascade laser" by Lei Dong, Chunguang Li, Nancy P. Sanchez, Aleksander K. Gluszek, Robert J. Griffin, and Frank K. Tittel

The past March 5-7, 2015, the International workshop on opportunities and challenges in mid-infrared laser-based gas sensing (mirsens) was held in Würzburg, Germany, this event received a strong participation from the MIRIFISENS consortium.

The past February 13-18, 2015, the Photonics West 2015 conference was held in San Francisco, CA, United States. The MIRIFISENS consortium was present in many of the different conferences this event held, such as: Quantum Sensing and Nanophotonic Devices XII, Novel-In-Plane Semicondictur Lasers XIV, Physics and Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices XXIII and Quantum Sensing and Nanophotonic Devices XII.

The coming October 5-9, 2014, the Mid-IR Optoelectronics: Materials and Devices (MIOMD) conference to be held in Montpellier, France, will receive a strong participation from the MIRIFISENS consirtium.

On September 20th, the MIRIFISENS (Mid InfraRed Innovative lasers For Improved SENSor of hazardous substances) FP7 collaborative Integrated Project held its kick off meeting in Palaiseau (France), hosted by III-V Lab, the project coordinator.
